Cobo Hosts Job Fair Thursday

An education and employment fair will be held Thursday at the Cobo Conference and Exhibition Center. 

Careers for Tomorrow, an education and employment fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. 

The event will help unemployed people find a job or prepare for future employment or business ownership opportunities. 

The employers attending the fair are: 

Aerotek Staffing, CVS Pharmacy, LaJoy Group, Little Caesars Ent., U.S. Army, Ajion, Detroit Medical Centers, Matrix Human Services, U.S. Census Bureau, United Insurance, Army National Guard, Dialogue Marketing, Med Staffing Agency, Uptown Barbeque, Asset Acceptance, Food team, Michigan Department of Corrections, Uptown Eatery, AutoZone, Greektown Casino & Hotel, MINACS, North American Bancard, Vinci/Frontier, Kemper Construction, Black Tie Staffing, Henry Ford Macomb Hospitals , Select Staffing, Vitel Communications, Cash Advance America, Intelligente Staffing Special Multi Services, University of Phoenix, Charlie’s Grille, Iron Mountain, Sprint PCS, Wayne State University, Convergys, John Evans Montessori, State Farm, Wonderland Childcare, CorLogistics, Jude’s Family Child Care and Sysco Detroit. 

Technical schools, colleges and universities will be at the fair to promote additional training and educational opportunities. 

Also, for those interested in starting a business, Little Caesars Enterprises, Subway and FranNet will be on site to provide information on franchise opportunities. 

In addition, business development experts from the U.S. Small Business Administration, Michigan Small Business & Technology Development Center and Detroit Entrepreneurial Institute will meet with prospective entrepreneurs. 

Job seekers are encouraged to bring plenty of resumes and dress for success. 

Parking will be available in the Cobo garage at the intersection of Congress and Cass streets. 

This event is for everyone – not just the unemployed, but also for those interested in improving their skills and in taking their careers to the next level,” said Mayor Ken Cockrel Jr. “We want to make sure Detroiters are ready for all opportunities for work – from the federal economic stimulus projects to the jobs of the future,” he said.
